Reflect How Far You Have Come:
Remain still for a moment and reflect back about 5-years. Think about how far you have come, and what it took to get to where you are now. Was the journey easy,or, was it hard? What have you learned from your past experiences that have helped you get where you are now?
As a basketball player, and a person in general, it is very important to look back sometimes and think of how far you’ve come, and realize what it took to get to where you are now and what it will take to get to where you want to go in the near-future. Want to double your point, rebound, steal, or assist average? Reflect back on previous seasons, view game tape and think about what you need to improve upon in order to do that. What worked in past training sessions that helped you today, and what didn’t? It is vital that you note both, so that you know what and what not to do.
Take about 5 minutes to sit-back, write down three goals, and what you need to do to reach them. Or write down three areas of your game that you want to improve, and how you will go about improving them. Once you have a plan, it will be that much easier to take action.
